Garage door work done by our own crew, from N Shepherd Dr
Broken springs at 6 a.m., openers that quit mid-storm, a new door for a 1980s bungalow, a dock door that stopped a shift: this is the work W&I Door Garage does across Houston every day, with its own technicians and a phone answered around the clock.
Who shows up when you call? One of our own technicians, dispatched from the shop at 4306 N Shepherd Dr between the Heights and Garden Oaks, in a truck stocked for the common failures. You get a diagnosis at the door, a flat written price before any work starts, and a door that leaves balanced and passing its safety tests.
The work
What fills our schedule
Most days are residential: spring replacement, cables and rollers, opener repairs and new installs, and full door replacements for the decades-old builder doors that Houston neighborhoods are full of. The rest is commercial: sectional dock doors, rolling steel and the operators that drive them, serviced on the overnight and weekend windows that facilities need.
Across 28 services in five groups, the through-line is the same: find what actually failed, say so plainly, and fix it with parts sized to the door rather than to whatever happened to be on the truck. We service and install the brands Houston garages actually run, from LiftMaster and Genie openers to Clopay, Amarr and Wayne Dalton doors.

How a job runs
From the first ring to a door that closes right
We pick up
Any hour, a person answers, asks what the door is doing and usually names the likely cause on the call.
A real window
You hear an honest arrival time; emergencies like a door stuck open jump the queue.
Diagnosis in front of you
The technician shows you the failed part and explains the fix before touching anything.
Flat written price
One total, in writing, before work begins; it does not grow once the truck is in the driveway.
Fixed and tested
Balance check, photo-eye and reversal tests, and a walk-through of what was done.
How we work
The rules every job follows
Repair first, when it is honest
If a spring or cable saves a sound door, that is the quote. Replacement gets recommended when the math says so, with both numbers on the table.
Parts on the truck
Common springs, cables, rollers, hinges and opener parts ride along, so most repairs finish in one visit.
Sized, not guessed
Springs are matched to the door's real weight, not copied from the old ones, so the door lifts evenly and lasts.
Safety tests every time
No door is handed back without its reversal and photo-eye checks passing.
Houston-grade hardware
Galvanized and coated parts where humidity and coastal air would retire bare steel early.
A clean garage
Old parts hauled off and the work area left the way we found it.

Coverage
Where we work
The shop sits at 4306 N Shepherd Dr #2, Houston, TX 77018, minutes from I-10, Loop 610 and the North Freeway, which is why inner-loop and north-side calls are often reached within a couple of hours. Daily routes cover Harris County, Fort Bend County, Montgomery County, Brazoria County, Galveston County, plus the suburbs that ring the city: Katy, Sugar Land, The Woodlands, Pearland, Pasadena.
Coastal addresses get one extra step: before any replacement we confirm whether the address sits inside the state-designated windstorm area, so wind-rated doors are specified where they matter and not sold where they do not.
Help Center
Answers before anyone drives out
The Help Center is edited by Marvin Driscoll, our Garage Door Guides Editor. It covers what repairs and new doors cost, with the national sources named, the warning signs worth acting on, and the questions that separate straight-dealing door companies from the rest, so you can check any quote, ours included, against honest numbers.
